Gribskov and Gribsø in the winter light:

French street.

This is in a street in Millau (France) from when I was walking around looking for a place to sleep. Mountains surround the city and the air is fresh. I started drinking red wine in a taverna listening to recorded modern French music.

From "An essay on Man":

These are excerpted lines from an essay by Alexander Pope:

"since life can little more supply
Than just to look around us and to die"
"Why Jove's satellites are less than Jove?"
"His faithful dog shall bear him company."
"For me kind Nature wakes her genial power,
Suckles each herb, and spreads out every flower;"
"From pride, from pride, our very reasoning springs;
Account for moral, as for natural things:
Why charge we Heaven in those, in these acquit?
In both, to reason right is to submit."

These lines were written in 18th century.

Well today is a grey day, and I am not inspired to take photos. The grey was on the sky all day, and there were no beautiful winter-lights. It is too warm to expect any snow, and the only sign of the beautiful power of Mother Nature is the winter-jasmine outside our front-door. (Which I already posted a picture of )...

Thorns.

Not thorns in my side but thorns on branches. Creation of Mother Nature herself. Just another thing to look at instead of wondering how diseases weigh people down or why a pill can change one's behaviour!
I just had a pill that is supposed to calm me down, because I only slept 5 hours last night and woke up drunk.
So instead of trying to analyse the chemistry of a pill I opt for looking at thorns on branches.
Pills are a modern phenomena, in ancient times folks would make a herbal tea. I suppose there is someone watching me changing the speed of my brain according to what I digest of beverages, pills or whatever...

Elsinore-houses:

I went to Helsingør (Elsinore) to buy a present for my Grandmother. I saw these houses and felt like photographing them. There are many houses like these in Helsingør, but still each one is a little different.

European disorder.

Once again I see a sign of disorder and distress ! At Edinburgh castle there is a huge weapon pointed at the city below the castle. What is it all about ? Historically someone really wanted to defend themselves and their property.
I was at the castle as a tourist, I saw the whole thing for the sake of it. So what is the meaning of it to modern day people, who want peace ?
Lessons learned, I hope...

Christmas in Helsinge.

The pedestrian street of Helsinge with christmas decorations.

Walking in the forest.

These pictures are taken on the paths of Tisvilde Hegn. A nice place for a Sunday walk.

Domestic plant.

In a house in Vejby I came across this lovely plant.

In the churches of Carcassonne.

It is striking what has been done in praise of God.
And then mistrust still exists.
We must forgive the critics and live our lives in peace.
This counts for many people that still hasn't been pushed into the extreme. In the extreme we depend on those who turn us back right on track.

Bearded:

I shared some wine with this fellow.

Morning in France.

I found this photo among my photos from France. The picture is from Annecy. In the morning the streets were empty and the sky was grey.

Rush-hour traffic in the park of Frederiksberg.

I have always thought that walking a dog is the profoundest meaning of life. Look how this little friend of her's is accelerating forwards in the joy of being walked.

A poem to angels:

She changes her sizes
she changes her skin
it happens in the night
and is branded in my mind.
She is many
she is not one
she is the best
that I found beneath the sun.

Blue skies.

In the garden.

Now that it is wintertime few plants have colours but green or brown, these red berries give me a signal of the power of Mother Nature.
