The castles of Northern Zealand, no, of most of Denmark and Southern Sweden, are a fabulous source for history. First I thought this picture was Elsinore (and Hamlet etc) but then I recognized Frederiksborg Castle, which in my opinion is one of the finest buildings in the "Danish Renaissance style" though it burned and had to be rebuild 100 years ago.

One friend of your Grandmother was a tour-guide and often went to Frederiksborg Castle. She loved to tell stories about the persons on the paintings, stories which she invented on the spot, and she always feared that someone had been with her before.

One time on such a tour there actually was a tourist who said "you told something else the other time!" But then Mrs. Tindinge, as was her name, replied "I tell different parts of the story every time."

She never lacked words :-)
